Ask a six-year-old what they want on their birthday, and you will almost never hear "just chocolate." They want a cake like Minecraft. Or a ballerina. Or a football pitch with their name on it. That is why kids birthday cake designs require lots of thinking, as their excitement doubles when the design reaches the table.
At Brulee, we bake customized kids’ birthday cakes for families in Dubai, with a range of cartoon characters to fantasy worlds. Here are the trending cake designs worth looking at in 2026, along with a few tips for picking the right one.
Popular Kids’ Birthday Cake Designs for 2026
Games and Cartoons Still Run the Party
Children who love Minecraft, Roblox, or PlayStation often know exactly what they want to see on their cake. They can spot a wrong detail from across the room that does not match their favorite game. Game-inspired cakes are the best choice, especially when your child already has a favorite game.
Another great choice is a character cake. Young fans get excited when they see their favorite characters come to life on their cake. Start by choosing what they enjoy most, whether it is a game, character, or theme, and let Brulee handle the rest. We customize these details to make the cake feel more personal to the birthday child.
Ballet and Floral Cakes for Softer Themes
Not every party style is worth a character cake. For those who love ballet with soft pastel shades and floral details, we have The Tiny Dancer Ballet Cake and the Pink Satin Slippers Floral Cake. For girls who love watching fairy tales, princess-inspired cakes can bring a soft magical feel to the celebration.
Football, Gymnastics and Space
The sports craze never ends. Children sometimes worry more about what they do than what they see. A cake in the shape of a football, gymnastics, or space informs everyone at the party what the kid admires. Adventure-inspired designs also work well for kids who love watching sports and trying new things.
Why Colorful Cakes Work Every Time
An eye-catching custom birthday cake wins the room at first sight before anyone takes a bite. Candy and donut cakes are built for exactly that, and we can add additional superhero or fantasy theme colors to make it more appealing. We try to match the palette to your party, so the cake doesn’t look separate.
How to Personalize Birthday Cakes for Kids
Every custom kids cake starts with a few simple questions. What are your child's favorite colors? Which characters do they love? What is the party theme? Once we have those answers, we build the design around them.
Name, Age and Message
A name and age turn a nice cake into your child's cake. It counts most on a first birthday, when the cake ends up in every photo. You can also add a short birthday message.
Colors and Decorative Details
Theme based details like color, favorite character or hobby plays an important role while designing a custom cake. It adds tiniest details to make your child feel special.
